Early Times Report

Jammu, June 16: The recent case of escape of a kidnapping accused from police custody in one of the police station of Jammu district and now the concerned Station House Officer has put the whole responsibility, blame on his junior for the lapse in order to save his skin.
After arresting the accused, a case under section 363 was lodged against him and later was taken to GMC for medical test by the police team under the supervision of PSI but after medical test when he was brought back to Police station, the accused sought permission for toilet and from where he fled by crossing over the boundary wall.
Now the concerned SHO has blamed the junior for this lapse but fact is that SHO is the head of the police and is equally responsible for the lapse but he has been trying to put an onus on his junior who had accompanied the accused.
In this connection, the DySP said that a hunt has been launched to nab the accused and soon he will be arrested and further said that inquiry will be initiated on the lapse. Sources said that there are several cases which are pending in this police station due to non seriousness of the concerned SHO. Despite repeated attempts, the SHO did not respond to the calls of this correspondent.
