Early Times Report

Jammu, June 17: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Kashmir submits a memorandum to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir regarding creation of vacancies of dental surgeon since 13 years no vacancy of dental surgeon has been created by the government.
ABVP in its memorandum to Shina, Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir drew attention towards that Government has not advertised even a single post of dental surgeons in the Jammu Kashmir UT since 2008, thus depriving a large chunk of population especially of rural areas from their oral health facilities.
Further the irony of the fate is that this biased and unjust attitude of Government toward dental doctors having BDS/ MDS degrees have left thousands of trained dentist unemployed. It is pertinent to mention here that every year huge number of new graduates passes their dental related studies from with in and outside Jammu and Kashmir but their future seems to be very scary, looking at the present scenario of the UT of Jammu Kashmir as no post has been advertised for them since 2008.
The most highlighting fact is that around 5000 dental surgeons registered in Jammu Kashmir are jobless which has made their situation deplorable as well as pathetic in the newly carved Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir. Many of them are on the verge of getting over-aged.
ABVP Jammu Kashmir demanded Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir to create and advertise posts of dental surgeons to curb the enormous strength of unemployed dental doctors. It is also requested to create a Directorate of Dental health for Jammu Kashmir on the pattern similar to Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. This separate and exclusive directorate would be able to solve various issues of dental surgeons which are pending since many years.
ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said, Since 13 years no vacancy of dental surgeon has been created by the government of Jammu Kashmir.
Looking at the present scenario of Jammu Kashmir, government should create and advertise posts of dental surgeon to curb the enormous strength of unemployed dental doctors.
