Samba, June 17: 5-bedded Covid Care Center set up inside a school in Samba district is a mere eyewash.
Early Times team visited the CCC set up at Dyani Panchayat in the district and found that beds, mattresses and bed sheets placed in the CCC were of very inferior quality. The washroom looked unfit for human use. There was only one lady worker running the center. Sarpanch of Dyani Panchayat Pradeep Kumar said, “We have all the facilities in the center.
There is an Anganwadi worker and Asha worker also. Water has been provided in the washroom.”
It’s in place to mention here that the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had sanctioned Rs 1 lakh for setting up the CCC in each Panchayat, but the facilities that have been provided in these centers have proven beyond doubt that money has not been spent properly. Foam pieces instead of mattresses, inferior beds and cheap bed sheets don’t cost Rs 1 lakh.
