| Pollution Control Committee Reasi conducts public hearing | | |

Reasi, June 17: A Public hearing for the environmental clearance of Minor mineral mining Block no. 1 and Block no. 34 in Tanda Seri Khad at village Tanda, Tehsil & District Reasi was organized today by J & K Pollution Control Committee.
Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Rajinder Kumar Sharma, KAS presided over the entire proceedings of the Public hearing. The other members of the panel comprised of representative of Regional Director, J & K Pollution Control Committee, Angrez Singh, Divisional Officer, PCC Samba South, District Mineral Officer, Reasi Rakesh Kumar and Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Committee, Reasi Hansraj Singh Galoach.
The Environmental Consultant of M/s Gaurang Environmental Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Amit Kumar representing the project proponent briefed the audience about the details of the proposed mining blocks including the mining method and anticipated impact from the mining in the area and the measures proposed under Environment Management Plan and Corporate Environmental Responsibility.
Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi in his address assured the public that genuine concerns of the locals for making the minor minerals available free of charge for construction of houses under PMAY and concessional rates for others; reservation of jobs for locals as unskilled labour in the mining project and other issues raised during public hearing shall be appropriately addressed. DDC Member Reasi Babu Jagjivan Lal, Sarpanches & Panches and many prominent citizens also addressed the Public. |
