Live for Others- Being Helpful Foundation organizes volunteer blood donation camp

Udhampur, June 17: Since Blood Donation is a great service to the mankind,a blood camp was organized by " Live for Others-Being Helpful Foundation in collaboration with Help in Need of Blood Foundation"at Panchayat Ghar Upper Khatrayar, Garhi, Udhampur.
The camp was inaugurated by the chief guest of the occasion Sushma Sharma, Sarpanch(Upper Khatrayar).During the camp, the team's of doctor's from GMC, Jammu headed by Dr.Shalvi Sharma was present there to provide full support to the foundation to make the camp successful. This blood donation camp was specially for the patients of Thalassemia. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterised by less oxygen-carrying protein (Haemoglobin) and fewer red blood cells in the body than normal. So a patient suffering from Thalassemia require 2-3 units of blood every month.
The blood donation camp began at around 10 am. There was an enthusiastic participation by many volunteers. Vivek Parihar (Director/C.E.O of LFO-BH organization) while speaking on the occasion, described the camp a great way towards the service of humanity and blood donation, a supreme donation. Highlighting the importance of Blood Donation, Vivek said it is a great service to the mankind and everyone should donate blood voluntarily as many times as possible to save the human lives.
He also said that Blood donation has its own benefits. It stimulates the blood cell production, reduces the risk of heart attack, help to maintain healthy liver etc and appealed to the youth to come forward and donate blood as much as they can atleast twice in a year. This camp was organized to fullfi the blood crisis suffered by the patients during the need of blood to save their lives. More than 50 youth participated in this blood donation camp voluntarily and around 15 units were bleed by the volunteers in order to give their contribution to fulfill the requirements of the blood crises.
The volunteers who were present during the camp were Vishal, Sourav, Rahul, Shubham, Anil, Rakesh, Surinder, Rahul and many more.
