The fundamental reforms are needed in the field of education

Last year, there were 23 IITs across the country. For 13,000 seats in the institutes, 1.5 lakh students succeeded in JEE Mains. JEE Advance Examination means 1 seat but 115 students appeared in the examination field. A total of 1100000 students were sitting in JEE Mains.
“The pressure and discipline to succeed in these high-level exams is so strong that by abandoning the joys of adolescence as a gift of life, students are able to fully immerse themselves in their living surroundings for 14 years. Separately, one has to live in the lifeless sangat of books. After a life of tedious preparation, many students feel deprived of even the most basic social skills, such as communicating with strangers and making friends, and losing a beautiful part of their youth. ” IIT A professor who has been teaching in Delhi for two decades testifies to the fact that when students come to us after two or three years of preparation, they do not even know how to walk and behave socially. At the same time another major shortcoming of our educational institutions is their isolation from the production process. As a result, students do not have any practical knowledge even after completing their studies. The happiest time of his life is spent dusting off the letters of books that have nothing to do with the practical life flowing around him.
Some students have been preparing for these exams since the age of 12. They go to school, then take coaching classes for these exams and take the exams every week. Schools, coaching classes and exams every week swallow up the most beautiful moments of their lives, including making friends.
One such exam is the NEET which is given for admission in medical colleges. In 2020, 13 lakh students appeared for the exam for 82,026 seats in 541 medical colleges across the country. Out of which many students committed suicide due to failure. These shops run across the country in the name of coaching institutes to prepare for these high level examinations make the situation worse for the students. We often hear about student suicides in Kota. Even students who escape the clutches of these coaching centers take a long time to get out of the atmosphere of these coaching centers. These coaching centers not only kill the fantasies and dreams of the students but they also destroy the remaining humanity in the students and fill them with bestiality.
These coaching institutes instill selfishness and jealousy in the minds of these students instead of human ideals like self-sacrifice for the society. The betterment of human beings is in the betterment of their fellow human beings whereas animals are wild because their existence is opposite to each other. They live by killing each other. But our coaching center has also become a jungle. Where every student studying with you is your enemy where you do not expect your own success as much as you expect your peers to fail.
At the same time, the rapid commercialization of education has turned the precious human treasure like education into hell. Education, which is becoming more expensive day by day, has excluded the children of a large population of laborers.
Education on which everyone should have the right like sunshine, wind because knowledge is not produced by any one person but knowledge is the essence of all human experiences therefore every human being has the same right over it.
Thus fundamental reforms are needed in the field of education. While education has to be made available not only to all without any money or special social status, it is also imperative to link education with the problems in our society.
Which requires a change in the purpose of education. Education should be a tool for the development of human society as a whole, rather than a means to a better life for itself.
