RAMBAN, June 27: Ashok Kumar, former MLA from Ramban has extended appreciation to the District Magistrate Ramban for initiating the process of black topping in old alignment road from Masjid market onwards. It was a long pending demand of both the public of Ramban and Maitra town. He also demanded early completion of black topping from Karol to Ramban via maitra town on war footing. In a statement issued here, he said, “Even at local levels or micro regional levels, opposition needs to be meaningful, strong, credible, committed and responsible to ensure that the government would perform transparent and accountable duties with maximum governance and does not assume the arbitrariness in its action neglecting the larger interest of the people”. Ashok said that the initiation of black topping of old alignment road in Ramban is the result of repeated protests in the past. Meanwhile, he further urged upon the concerned department to immediately black top the remaining stretch of road between Karol and Ramban via Maitra on war footing as students, patients, businessman and commuters have to face difficulties due to dilapidated conditions of the road. In addition, the Ramban and Maitra towns are engulfed in the clouds of dust due to absence of proper black topping in the above mention stretch. He has urged upon the Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities to swiftly act in this regard and end this menace of dust by black topping the road between Karol and Ramban via Maitra town which is the old alignment road. |
