COVID-19: JK reports 415 new cases, 8 deaths

SRINAGAR, June 27: Jammu & Kashmir reported 415 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 14,731. With eight fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus in the union territory reached 4,304.
Srinagar reported 78 new cases followed by Reasi district 63, Budgam and Anantnag districts 26 each, Kupwara and Bandipora districts 23 each, Ganderbal district 22, Jammu district 21, Kulgam and Udhampur districts 19 each, Doda district 17, Pulwama district 16, Rajouri and Ramban districts 12 each, Baramulla district 10, Kathua, Kishtwar and Poonch districts eight each, Samba district three and Shopian district one case.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 415 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 171 from Jammu division and 244 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 14,731. Also, eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Moreover, 745 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 166 from Jammu division and 579 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 82.09 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 14,731 positive cases, 5,292 are active positive, 3, 05,135 have recovered and 4,304 have died; 2,100 in Jammu division and 2,204 in Kashmir division.
Out of 98, 19,423 test results available, 95, 04,692 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 98,195 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 18,195 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,292 in isolation and 2, 13,187 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 57,217 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,768 positive cases, 991 active positive, 67,952 recovered, 825 deaths; Baramulla has 23,170 positive cases, 299 active positive, 22,593 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,495 positive cases, 351 active positive, 21,941 recovered, 203 deaths; Anantnag has 16,007 positive cases, 326 active positive, 15,483 recovered, 198 deaths; Pulwama has 14,835 positive cases, 246 active positive, 14,400 recovered, 189 deaths.
“Kupwara has 13,734 positive cases, 351 active positive, 13,220 recovered, 163 deaths; Kulgam has 11,010 positive cases, 222 active positive, 10,674 recovered, 114 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,561 positive cases, 199 active positive, 9,286 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,269 positive cases, 181 active positive, 8,988 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,547 positive cases, 17 active positive, 5,472 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,359 positive cases, 644 active positive, 50,582 recovered, 1,133 deaths; Udhampur has 11,147 positive cases, 104 active positive, 10,912 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,674 positive cases, 193 active positive, 10,262 recovered, 219 deaths; Kathua has 9,198 positive cases, 44 active positive, 9,005 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,055 positive cases, 37 active positive, 6,900 recovered, 118 deaths.
“Doda has 6,768 positive cases, 288 active positive, 6,368 recovered, 112 deaths; Poonch has 6,066 positive cases, 256 active positive, 5,720 recovered, 90 deaths; Ramban has 5,812 positive cases, 132 active positive, 5,617 recovered, 63 deaths; Reasi has 5,835 positive cases, 281 active positive, 5,511 recovered, 43 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,421 positive cases, 130 active positive, 4,249 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 14,731 positive cases in J&K, 22,270 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
