Early Times Report

Jammu, June 27: In a surprising development, one of the invited political leaders from Kashmir at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on June 24 thanked the PM for inviting him to the meet but added that he had come as an “individual.”
Top sources privy to the meeting said that the leader from Kashmir, who was invited by the Prime Minister, for the meeting was all praise for the Modi government but told the PM that he would speak “like an individual and not the party he is affiliated with.”
Sources said the said leader didn’t want to show much of affiliation towards the party he represents.
Sources said his colleague from the same party and other leaders from Kashmir who were present at the meeting were surprised at the reaction of the said leader.
Sources said the said politician hailed the Prime Minister for his efforts in restoration of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and also discussed developmental issues.
Interestingly sources said the said leader and his party colleague later left the 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence of the Prime Minister in the same car.
After leaving the venue, both the leaders were all praise for the Modi government.
The said leader, who later spoke to media that there was no question of discussing the issue of restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir with the Prime Ministers as the matter was subjudice before the Supreme Court.
The party leadership later upheld before the media that Bharatiya Janta Party would never restore the Article 370 or 35A.
Sources said the party has extended its full support to the BJP led government for its decisions on Kashmir but demanded that the elections be held at an earliest.
