Budgam BDC member’s husband held for securing lone with fake documents | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 27: The husband of a Block Development Council (BDC) member in central Kashmir district of Budgam was arrested for securing a lone of Rs 28 lakh from J&K bank by providing fake documents of a property and counterfeit stamps of top officials, official sources said on Sunday. Official sources said that a man approached Police Station Khansahib, claiming that someone had acquired a mortgage loan from J&K bank on his land without his knowledge. “The man came to know about it, after a bank employee known to him informed him about the same,” they said. They said a case was registered and investigation was taken up. “During the course of investigation, it was found that one Mukhtar Ahmad Mir, who is the husband of a BDC member, had forged documents of the property and counterfeit stamps of top officials in the district to secure Rs 28 lakh as lone,” they said, adding the accused was arrested. They said the bank had already transferred Rs 15 lakh out of the Rs 28 lakh lone into the account of Mir. “Investigation is going on to identity and nab other people involved in the crime,” they said. |
