Campaign initiated for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

Jammu, June 27: Zone Sidhra sub-division Dansal organized Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for farmers of panchayat Pargalta. On the occasion, S.Arvinder Singh Reen, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu highlighted the benefits of Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
He appealed the farmers to come forward and take benefits of the scheme. He said that farmers shall pay only 2% premium and rest shall be contributed by the central government, UT govt. and IFCO Tokyo, GIC.
He stressed that KCC holders should immediately approach the concerned bank and report the actual area of the notified crop i.e maize/paddy being cultivated during the current Kharif season so that the genuine premium may be deducted to check the financial loss to the farmer as per government exchequer.
He said claim shall be paid for losses accessed on block level as well as individual cases. The sub-divisional Agriculture officer, Prem Singh elaborated that the non loan farmers can also take the benefits of the scheme by producing the land records of area being sown under the notified crop and submitted application form in his bank branch.he said some assured for maize and paddy crop per hectare will be 80,000-1,00,000 respectively.
He said that farmer’s share of premium per hectare shall be only Rs.1600/Rs.2000 for the maize and paddy crops respectively.
The PRI members and progressive farmers of the area appreciated the receiver being extended by agriculture department and praised the working of Agricuture Extension Officer Ashwani Gupta and his team and argued the department functionaries to continue the farmers oriented activities so that the poor farmers of the area may take benefits of govt. latest farming techniques. Vinod Sharma DAOE Jammu, Ashwani Gupta AEO Sidhra, and concerned JAEO’s and AEA’s were also present.
