NSS, JU organized national level online quiz

Jammu, June 27: To commemorate the ,“International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”, National Service Scheme (NSS),Campus Units, University of Jammu, Jammu organized a National Level -Online Quiz Competition based on the Theme,” Share Drug Facts to Save Lives “ The quiz link was active from 26th June 2021 at 10.00 a.m. to 27th June 2021 till 10.00 am .The quiz was open to all participants like NSS Volunteers, Red Ribbon Club Volunteers, Students, Scholars, Teachers, Employees and Alumni of JU ,Parents etc. The quiz contained 18 questions and each question carried 2 marks. The pass percentage of qualifying the quiz was 70%. About 785 participants from different areas of India which included Jammu, Kashmir, Kargil, Mumbai, Chennai ,Karur, Karaikudi, Kolkatta, West Bengal, Palampur , Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, Kerala, Raipur, Pathankot, Annamalai, Tamil Naidu ,Ghatkopar West Rajasthan, Kovaya, Ramanathapuram and Uttarakhand, participated. About 140 participants secured 100% while 90 achieved 95%, 74 participants achieved 90%, 87 participants achieved 84% and 139 participants achieved more than 70% and got qualified for online quiz .
All the participants participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm and fervor. The participants, who successfully qualified the quiz, were awarded with an e-certificate which was received by them on their e-mail, for their participation in the event as a mark of Appreciation.
Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor and Chairman NSS, University of Jammu stressed to resolve the problem of illegal trading, selling or dealing with drugs.
The need for more such online events shall help us to achieve our goal of free India from drug abuse.
He appreciated the efforts of organizers in keeping students engaged in the time of Covid, when everyone in under stress and confinement. These types of activities keep students connected and encourage them to showcase their creativity.
Prof. Neeru Sharma, Convener NSS, Campus Unit ,University of Jammu, lauded the efforts of all the participants for the successful conduct of the online -quiz event.
The Online Quiz was conducted under the Supervision and Guidance of Prof. Neeru Sharma, and was coordinated by Dr. Savita Nayyar and Dr. Meghna Dhar, NSS Programme Officers, Campus Units, University of Jammu, Jammu with the technical support of Vikas Pandita, Systems Engineer TCS, Noida, Gurdarshan, NSS Volunteer, University of Jammu.
