GCW Udhampur organizes d seminar on ‘Share Facts on Drugs, Save Lives

Jammu, June 27: “If you can quit for a day, you can quit for a life time”. On this valour day, GCW Udhampur organised online intra college seminar competition on the topic of ‘Share Facts On Drugs, Save Lives’.
Around 53 NCC cadets participated with zeal and also gave their beautiful presentation regarding drug abuse, statistical data, theme i.e. combating misinformation and promotes sharing facts on drugs – from health risks and solution to tackle the world drug problem.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal, GCW, appreciated the cadets and said, “It is necessary to talk about the drug abuse and illicit trafficking as it is growing several. There are around 11.8 millions of deaths take place due to drugs each year.”
The meeting was hosted by the organiser, Lt (Dr) Kamal Deep Kaur, Associate NCC Officer of the college. Cadet Simran Sharma, Cadet Shruti Sharma and Cadet Priyanka were adjudged first, second and third respectively, whereas Cadet Chahat Dogra was presented the consolation prize. The webinar was ended with the feedbacks from the cadets regarding this online webinar competition.

Jammu, Jun 27: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking is observed every year worldwide to raise awareness against the drug menace among the masses especially younger generation . The awareness campaign is not only a service to humanity but is also good for those who are involved in drug menace.
The Red Ribbon Club of GDC Vijaypur under the patronage and guidance of Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, organised an Intra-College Pledge Card Making Contest in which the faculty and students shared poems, messages, couplets and facts about drug abuse and also took a pledge not to have drugs and motivated others for the same.
Dr. Shittal Sharma, Dept. Of Mathematics and Prof. Poonam Kundan, Dept. of Environmental Sciences explained in detail about drug abuse and its harmful effects on the society by sharing their audios on social platform. Manreen Kour and Manu Devi, students of B.A. Sem.-II, GDC Vijaypur explained their views by reciting poems on the theme ”Share facts on Drugs, Save Life”. Manu Partap Singh of B.A. Sem.-II, GDC Vijaypur made a presentation on the topic “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”.
Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College urged the students to stay away from drug as drugs ruin lives and costs more than just money. E-certificates were awarded to all the participants.
