Cognizance taken over defamation of NGO
7/3/2021 12:02:12 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 2: Today a press conference was held by the members of Women wing of NGO "Jiyo Aur Jeene Do" in which counsellor Rinku Shah, Programme Director Neena Kaul, coordinator Ruby Shaikh and others spoke about the recent incident of defaming NGO.
Rinku Shah said , "Our organization was falsely accused by a woman in Jammu three days back. Today our women wing wishes to ask a few questions through media about this matter. The organization has been accused without any evidence. All kinds of allegations are baseless .We also want to put some of our questions through the media today. The media has definitely listened to that woman but she was neither questioned nor asked for any kind of evidence. There should be an investigation and the truth should be brought out through the proper investigation. Due to this some people of the city, claiming to be social workers are pointing fingers at the organization and at the same time making false statements and accusing President Tariq Shah by showing someone else's wedding photo.
The photograph shown is of some another wedding of 2019 which took place in Udhampur. Not only this, by making false statements, he has tried his best to destroy the brotherhood and communal harmony of the city and an attempt was made to instigate the people falsely.
The organization demands appropriate action on him. He must be punished under law against misuse of photos, false accusations against the organization and false statements.
We also make humble appeal to DDC Madam that such people who are trying to spoil the brotherhood of the society by giving wrong name to the issue pertaining to one family. Proper case should be registered against them so that they do not try to give wrong message in the society.
We have been working for humanity and environment in the society for the last many years, in such a situation a conspiracy is being made to dishonor the NGO. It is an attempt of defamation of all those people who are associated with us by pointing fingers at the organization.
We also appeal for proper investigation so that true character of the woman who pointed fingers at the organization. According to her, she has been married twice before. The death of her first husband should be investigated and the reason for divorce from the second husband should be found out. Not only this how many children does she have of these previous marriages and where are those children.
Moreover where are her maternal family, why the maternal relatives are not standing with her at such a crucial time, all these things should be investigated.
There are many such things that also raise questions on her character. Appropriate enquiry by CBI or other investigating agency and appropriate action should be taken by CBI on this whole matter. Yesterday in this regard an FIR has been registered in the Jammu Women's Cell against the concerned family.
Our question is without any proof, the name of our organization has just been dragged into it. We had given this woman five days through the media to produce proofs in context of that and out of which today is the third day. If she does not present any evidence for the next two days, we are going to file a defamation case against her. Therefore, it is our appeal to the LG Sir and DDC Udhampur that kindly conduct a proper investigation in this matter. We also make an appeal to our Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Modi that strict laws should be brought on the serious subject like Love Jihad so that strict punishment could be given to those who commit such crime and also a strong action shall be taken against those who spoil the atmosphere of the society by using it wrongly. Our Jammu and Kashmir is already a sensitive state. In such a scenario, all those who conspire to disturb the brotherhood and communal harmony are entitled to punishment. "
The Counsellor of NGO Rinku Shah, Vice President Parveen Akhter, Neena Koul, Ruby Sheikh, Ajab Khurana, Santosh Kumari and others were present on the occasion.
