SRINAGAR, July 2: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 331 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 16,291. With six deaths being reported in the past 24 hours the death toll due to the virus reached 4,333. Srinagar district reported 78 cases followed by Budgam district 29, Baramulla and Pulwama districts 27 each, Anantnag district 26, Kulgam district 22, Ganderbal district 19, Kupwara district 18, Doda and Ramban districts 13 each, Jammu district 12, Kishtwar district eight, Udhampur and Rajouri districts seven each, Bandipora district six, Kathua and Reasi districts five each, Poonch district four, Samba district three and Shopian district two cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 331 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 77 from Jammu division and 254 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 16,291. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division. Moreover, 437 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 158 from Jammu division and 279 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 87.27 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 16,291 positive cases, 4,209 are active positive, 3, 07,749 have recovered and 4,333 have died; 2,112 in Jammu division and 2,221 in Kashmir division. Out of 1, 00, 77,056 test results available, 97, 60,765 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 46,492 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 13,014 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,209 in isolation and 2, 29,554 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 95,382 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,121 positive cases, 788 active positive, 68,504 recovered, 829 deaths; Baramulla has 23,290 positive cases, 277 active positive, 22,735 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,605 positive cases, 240 active positive, 22,161 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,116 positive cases, 177 active positive, 15,736 recovered, 203 deaths; Pulwama has 14,897 positive cases, 168 active positive, 14,537 recovered, 192 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,833 positive cases, 240 active positive, 13,428 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,089 positive cases, 171 active positive, 10,802 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,620 positive cases, 182 active positive, 9,362 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,312 positive cases, 124 active positive, 9,088 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,556 positive cases, 10 active positive, 5,488 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,411 positive cases, 515 active positive, 50,761 recovered, 1,135 deaths; Udhampur has 11,187 positive cases, 90 active positive, 10,966 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,721 positive cases, 130 active positive, 10,371 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,212 positive cases, 32 active positive, 9,031 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,087 positive cases, 52 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths. “Doda has 6,852 positive cases, 218 active positive, 6,517 recovered, 117 deaths; Poonch has 6,110 positive cases, 220 active positive, 5,798 recovered, 92 deaths; Reasi has 5,924 positive cases, 317 active positive, 5,564 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,855 positive cases, 115 active positive, 5,676 recovered, 64 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,493 positive cases, 143 active positive, 4,308 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 16,291 positive cases in J&K, 22,408 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
