Duggar Manch celebrates 95th birth anniversary of eminent Dogri writer Tara Smailpuri

Jammu, July 2: On the occasion of 95th birth anniversary of eminent Dogri writer poet and writer Tara Smailpuri, Duggar Manch organized online function to pay respect to the legendary Dogra poet with popular sobriquet Walking Encyclopedia of Dogri Literature .
At the outset, President Duggar Manch Mohan Singh Sahitya Akademi awardee highlighted contours of Tara Smailpuri's rich literary contributions ,his poetry laced with wit and humour of superb quality. He made Dogras proud by his unique style of making satire on the situation, even acting during theorganized events. Programme was compered by Gharo Chaudhary who presented introductory remarks and recited one selected Gazhal of the writer. The keynote address on life achievements was presented by poetess grand-daughter Samvedna Sharma.
Galaxy of younger poets who presented their thought provoking compositions included Ms Richa Anand, Surita Sharma, Ravinder Verma, Rakesh Verma, Savere Sharma, Renuka Sharma, Heena Choudhary, Rekha Thakur, Savtenterta Mehra, Dr Narinder Pangotra, Rahul Sharma, Surekha Rajput, Sushma Rani, Padam Choudhary and Chander Mohan Sharma. Poems highlighted social problems, ongoing Corona pandemic and need for perseverance to evade stress and strain in the present circumstances. Prof Shalini Rana while presenting vote of thanks expressed her gratitude to President Mohan Singh and other participants in making the online event a great success despite cover stressful days..
