Jammu, Oct 19: Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Prem Sagar Aziz in Tuesday resigned from the National Conference party. Extending support to Devender Singh Rana and Surjit Singh Slathia, Mr Aziz, who is in-charge Bani tehsil of Kathua, along with his supporters quit from the basic membership of the party. Earlier Mr Rana, the prominent face of National Conference in Jammu and Mr Slathia resigned from party's fold. They joined the BJP in the national capital stating that the decision was taken for the cause of Jammu region. A handout issued here said that Mr Aziz after resigning from the party said that he will stand by Mr Rana, as his contribution for the Jammu cause has been an inspiration for him to work for the interests of the people. “I remained in Congress for 45 years and joined National Conference only because of Mr Devender Singh Rana, as I know him he is working for the cause of Jammu and I support his cause unequivocally”, he said. "Now that Mr Rana has disassociated himself from the National Conference for the sake of Jammu, I cannot continue in the party and extend my support to him”, said Mr Aziz.
