Ensuring people’s right to earn livelihood: Arrogant J&K babus need to learn from Maharashtra Govt | Restores opening time of restaurants to pre-Covid situation | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 19: The Jammu and Kashmir government must take a lesson from the Maharashtra Government to ensure that people should earn their livelihood. Maharashtra Government on Monday decided to extend the time till which restaurants and shops can stay open and announced to reopening of amusement parks across the state. The restrictions were in place to check the spread of Coronavirus in the state. In Jammu province, the Corona situation has improved but some Babus seem hell-bent to spoil the business of those who stood like rocks with nationalist forces at the time of crisis. What to say of extending the timing of restaurants, hotels, and bars, a section of babus is working overtime to ruin Jammu’s business just to further the interests of the mafia. It is widely believed in Jammu province that instead of accomplishing the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister for J&K, some babus are rather furthering the interests of the mafia for their petty personal gains. Maharashtra Government on Monday decided to extend the timing of restaurants. At present, restaurants are allowed to operate between 7am and 10pm with 50% seating capacity. According to the new decision the government has restored the timing to pre-COVID times, now the restaurants and bars can remain open till 1:30 am across Maharashtra. The decision followed a meeting between Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Covid-19 task force earlier in the day. A statement from the chief minister’s office said the state government decided to reopen amusement parks across the state from October 22. However, water rides in amusement parks will remain suspended, for now. The issue of vaccination of children against Covid-19 was also discussed in the meeting, during which Uddhav Thackeray instructed the State Health Department to remain in touch with the Centre to keep the stock of the vaccination for children ready, officials in the chief minister’s office familiar with the development said. |
