NIA may take investigations of minorities killings | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 19: The National Investigation Agency is likely to take over the investigations of some of the recent targeted killings that has triggered fear among the minorities and migrant workers, official sources said. They said Director General NIA Kuldeep Singh held a series of meetings on Monday in Srinagar with top J&K Police brass. The initial investigations by Police have hinted that these killings including that of famous Kashmiri Pandit chemist M L Bindroo show a larger terror angle. The sources said the Ministry of Home Affairs will issue a notification and only after that the cases will be handed over to NIA. This month eleven civilians including five migrant workers and three minority community members have been killed in a series of targeted attacks. The attacks have triggered fear among the migrant workers and minorities. |
