Srinagar, Oct 19: A leopard was found dead on Tuesday in Kokernag woods of south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said.
They said, villagers noticed a carcass of a leopard lying in the bushes of Kogamnard soafshali forest area of Kokernag and informed the wildlife officials.
A team of the wildlife department reached on the spot and took the dead leopard alongwith. An official of the department claimed that the leopard seems to have died of natural causes.
However, forensic experts have collected some samples of dead leopard to ascertain the cause of death, the official said.
