Eid-e-Milad-Un Nabi celebrated with religious fervor in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 19: Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on Tuesday was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in Kashmir valley.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha extended his warm greetings to the people on the eve of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi.
The main function was held at Assar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, housing the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), where limited number of devotees was allowed to participate in the night long prayers in view of COVID19 infection. Special prayers were held for the restoration of peace and brotherhood to prevail in Kashmir valley, the sources said.
Hundreds of devotees from all walks of life including men, women and children were seen moving on different kind of vehicle towards the Hazratbal Shrine in down town Srinagar for attend “Dhur”, Nimaz the midday prayer. It was a sunny day today after two days of rains and cold conditions prevailed in the valley.
A priest displayed “ Moi-e-Muqqadas” the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad before the devotees after the Nimaz . It would be displayed after every Nimaz before the devotees for two days, the priest said.
The authorities had made adequate arrangements for the devotees intended to visit the white marbled mosque of Hazratbal .
The vendors had put their stalls around the complex selling different kind of goods.
Meanwhile, In his message of felicitations, the Lt Governor hoped that the auspicious occasion would foster the spirit of togetherness amongst the people of all faiths, and deepen the bond of unity and communal harmony.
He prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the UT. “May this auspicious occasion bring sustained peace, development, and prosperity in J&K”, the Lt Governor said.
