Nothing less than 50 assembly seats to Jammu: Shiv Sena | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 21: Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir unit staged a strong protest here today against the proposal of the Delimitation Commission to increase only six assembly seats for Jammu. They alleged that this is yet again gross injustice with Jammu region and its people and demanded that Jammu division be given its due rights that have been denied for over past seven decades. Shiv Sainiks led by the party’s UT President Manish Sahni gathered at the party headquarters holding placards displaying ‘No less than 50 assembly seats for Jammu division and ‘Restoration of state status’. Sahni said that once again the people of Jammu are being deceived by those who promised moon to the innocent people of Jammu. He said that the latest development indicates that the process of handing over the keys of Jammu & Kashmir’s power to Kashmiri leaders continues unabated even today. Sahni said that reservation should be given in the assembly seats for the refugees of POJK and also for the hill people. Along with this, the Kashmiri displaced, who have been residing in Jammu division for more than three decades, are now the need of the hour to shift their mind to Jammu division.
