Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 21: The former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha and ex-Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir has been completely changed for a couple of years.
He said that those at the helm of the affairs were least concerned about employment and jobs for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Like a veteran politician, Azad has reason to raise this issue because during the last some months Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a drastic change as people are losing jobs and other rights.
Azad, who served as Chief Minister of J&K during the tenure of 2005 to 2008, vowed that he will not allow the bureaucracy to destroy Jammu and Kashmir.
Two years and four months have been passed after the abrogation of articles 370 and 35-A and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. During this period everything has been snatched from the people of J&K in the name of total integration.
Neither job nor land rights is restored for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of providing employment opportunities to the people, their livelihood was snatched with one way or other in the name of different policies.
Interestingly, Ladakh was carved out as a separate Union Territory from the erstwhile state of J&K but the pre-August 5, 2019 situation was almost restored in the cold desert.
Comparison of rights given to Ladakh and J&K
Ladakh J&K
Jobs Rights No Job Rights
Land Rights No Land Rights
Employment Rights Open for all domiciles
to locals only
Residents right to Outsiders can acquire domiciles
only PRC holders
