People want to get rid of blind and deaf J&K Govt: Azad | ‘Lawlessness, arrogance hallmarks of present regime’ | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 21: Senior Congress leader and former J&K chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that people of Jammu and Kashmir desperately want to get rid of “blind and deaf regime” in the Union Territory. Speaking at a massive public rally at his home town Gundow, Azad said, “J&K people are fed up of the present deaf and blind dispensation. They want to get rid of it.” He said the country has witnessed many changes during the past 7 years of BJP rule as “lawlessness and arrogance” are the hallmark of the present government. Azad said that Jammu and Kashmir witnessed two major anguishing revolutions i.e. abrogation of 370 and it getting split in two parts. “I have just come to meet you as there is nothing about elections,” he told the gathering. “The constituencies are created here, but I don’t know how the areas are distributed, whether for the benefit of the ruling party or in view of the areas’ population. Everything is changing. Our development was putting forward the people, but the ruling government is taking everything backwards. We gave employment to our people, but today, people have lost everything” Azad said. He hailed the three local leaders, including GM Saroori, Majid Wani, and Vikar Rasool, for organising his programs and helping him every time, and said if they contest any election, he believes that all three will win with huge votes. He said that we have fewer female leaders while the Bharatiya Janata Party has lakhs of female leaders. We have to give priority to women so that we can also have more female leaders in the future from our areas. Regarding his rallies, he said that he is going to the major places first to meet people, and then he will visit every other area too. “Our state was one of the oldest states which got split into two parts. This was something anguishing. The CM has been replaced with an LG and ministers are replaced with officers. Everyone is sad due to this,” he said. |
