DSEK fails to detach teachers occupying administrative posts

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 21: The School Education Department has yet again failed to detach teachers, who are occupying administrative posts, despite multiple orders. According to reports, a number of teachers working as clerks in Zonal Education Offices and Chief Education Offices, haven’t yet joined back their original postings.
Since 2019, the administrative wing of School Education Department has issued multiple orders and circulars directing Director School Education Department Jammu and Kashmir respectively to detach all those teachers who are attached for administrative works, however it has little impact on ground.
Earlier, this month Principal Secretary to Government B K Singh (IFS) issued an order and canceled the attachment of teaching staff.
Vide order No. 1691-JK (EDU) of 2021 dated 10-12-2021, ordered cancellation of the attachment of teaching staff and directed them to report their original posting where they are drawing salaries.
The government also warned of action against those who will not join back at their original postings.
Highly placed sources revealed to ET that senior officials at DSEK were deliberately delaying the implementation of an order issued by the government. “In South Kashmir, teachers continue to work as clerks in ZEO offices. These teachers are very influential and have never actually taught students,” they said.
At ZEO office Srigufwara in Anantnag district, teachers occupying administrative posts haven’t been shifted despite multiple complaints having been filed against them.
Similarly, several other teachers posted ZEO offices and CEO offices continue to occupy administrative posts.
