| Five kilograms of Cannabis recovered, smuggler arrested by Udhampur Police | | |

UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: In its drive against drug smugglers and their propagators, Udhampur Police today arrested one drug smuggler and recovered five kilograms and 210 grams of Charas like substance in the jurisdiction of PS Udhampur. A Police party during naka checking signaled a vehicle bearing registration no. JK02AP-4324 coming from Kashmir valley side to stop for checking, however the driver of the said vehicle tried to flee from the spot the alert cops successfully intercepted it at naka point. During checking 5.210 kilogram Charas like substance was recovered which was concealed in the vehicle to avoid being noticed by the police during checking. The accused identified as Sameer Khan S/O Ata Mohammad Khan R/O Anantnag has been arrested on spot and contraband substance seized. In this regard, A Case FIR 480/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS act has been registered in PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway. |
