SRINAGAR, Dec 29: A senior official in Urban Local Bodies Department Kashmir has been placed under suspension for making illegal appointments at Municipal Committee Shopain in 2009-2010.
In-Charge Executive Officer Municipal Committee Frisal Ghulam Mohmmad Lone and Ghulam Nabi Wani then senior assistant at MC Shopain were suspended after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) established the fact that duo illegally recruited four employees.
A case [FIR No. 28/2018 P/S VOK (now ACB) under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) of the prevention of Corruption Act, Samvat 2006 and section 120-B, 471 RPC] was registered at PS ACB in 2018.
At least after two years, the ACB forwarded the final investigation report to General Administration Department vide letter No. ACB-FIR-28/2018-K-12601 dated 30-06-2021. The agency has prima facie established the case against the accused.
The General Administration after receiving the final investigation report accorded sanction for prosecution of the accused employee.
The GAD also directed the Housing and Urban Development Department to initiate action against the accused employees for making illegal recruitments.
"Both the accused public servants shall be placed under suspension with immediate effect," reads the official communiqué.
Acting on this directive, Director ULB Kashmir has placed both the employees under suspension for the offenses committed and have been attached with the directorate office.
The 'blue-eyed' persons engaged by them in blatant violation of rules include Abdul Majeed Bhat r/o Ganderbal, Umaya Jahanger d/o Jahanger Ahmad R/o Shopain, Javed Ahmad Wani s/o Abdul Gani Wani R/o Bongam and Shariq Ahmad Sofi s/o Bashir Ahmad Sofi r/o Shopain. |
