Policeman, Army Jawan injured in Dooru Encounter 3 militants killed in Kulgam | Normalcy Claims fall flat ! | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 29: Back to Back gunfights in South Kashmir’s Anantnag and Kulgam districts on Wednesday evening yet again negated the normalcy claims of LG Administration. The Gunfights broke out between militants and security forces in Nowgam Village of Anantnag and Mirhama village of Kulgam. At Nowgam Anantnag, a policeman and an army soldier suffered injuries initially. According to Police the firefight erupted in Nowgam Shahabad, Dooru and ensued after militants fired upon a joint team of police, army’s 19 RR and 164 battalion CRPF while they were laying a cordon-and-search operation amid presence of the militants in the area. “Encounter has started at Nowgam Shahabad, Dooru area of Anantnag. In the initial firing, 01 police personnel got injured and was shifted to hospital,” police said in a tweet. “Police & SFs are on the job. Further details shall follow.” Sources that a soldier of 19RR was also injured in the shootout. Another Gunfight broke out in Mirhama village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. According to reports, 3 militants were killed by security forces in this gunfight. The operation is on, police said in a tweet. These Gunfights like others again negates the normalcy claims of incumbent administration, opined experts. They say that the incumbent administration hasn’t succeeded in controlling the militancy in Jammu and Kashmir despite abrograting Article370. |
