Sanitation drive launched by JMC in Narwal area | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 29: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched a special sanitation drive as per the directions of Commissioner JMC in Narwal. The sanitation drive was started from Narwal Chowk and covered most of the areas from sanitation point of view. During the drive the Health Officer interacted with shopkeepers and other business establishments and aware them about user charges and added that every business establishments should keep dustbins so that the same can be lifted properly by the JMC. The aim of launching this special sanitation drive is to cover most areas of Narwal and aware the shopkeepers about the importance of SBM. During this a dedicated team comprising of concerned Sanitation Officer, Sanitary Inspector/Sanitary Supervisor and other allied staff was put in place under overall supervision of Health Officer, JMC. The JMC Commissioner appealed to the shopkeepers of Narwal area as well as general public to cooperate with JMC and use identified places for disposal of garbage. She stressed to avoid use of polythene to the extent possible which is the major cause of blockage of drains and nallahs. She stressed for achieving goal of making city Jammu Clean & Green and aim of Swachh Bharat Mission. |
