JKAACL organises Dogri Kavi Goshti

JAMMU, Jan 8: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a Dogri Kavi Goshti in connection with the 4-day Poetry Festival, here at K L Saigal Hall here.
Padam Shree, Dr. Jitendra Udhampuri was Chief Guest on the Occasion, while Dr. A S Amn Additional Secretary of JKAACL was in the presidium.
Dr. Jitendra Udhampuri in his presidential address appreciated the Academy for its endeavor towards promotion of Dogri language and Culture. He said that there is an urgent need to document the cultural heritage of Dogras.
Dr. A S Amn said that literature has played an important role in society and the Academy is working regularly to boost the local languages and also provide a platform to national languages like Hindi. He further stated that the objective of this event is to provide a platform to poets, writers of all languages spoken in the Jammu region to display their intellectual thoughts before an invited audience.
The event was held under the supervision of Rahul Pandey, Secretary JKAACL and Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary JKAACL.
The prominent Dogri poets who recited their poems included Padam Shree Dr. Jitender Udhampuri ,Mohan Singh, Shiv Dev Singh Susheel, Vijaya Thakur,, Randi Singh Raipuria,Bishan Singh Dardi, Khajoor Singh, ,Suriender Sagar, ,Daya Ram Daya,Dr.Sandeep Sufi, ,Sh.Gopal Krishan Komal, Usha Kiran 'Kiran', Promila Manhas ,Dr. Chanchal Bhasin, Dr. Sushma Rani, Dr. Sarita Khajuria and Rajinder Kumar Ranja.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Yashpal Nirmal, Asstt Editor Dogri .
Dr. Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor JKAACL presented vote of thanks.
