Shiv Sena demands employment for local youth in ventures set up by outside investors

Jammu, Jan 8: Shivsena Jammu and Kashmir unit staged a strong protest demonstration here on Saturday demanding that the investors from across the nation and abroad coming to establish their business units in Jammu and Kashmir must ensure that local youth of Jammu and Kashmir should be provided employment in their establishments. Despite heavy rains a large number of Shiv Sainiks led by the Jammu and Kashmir unit President, Manish Sahni gathered at the protest site besides Maharaja Hari Singh statue on Tawi Bridge and raised the demand through vociferous slogans. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Manish Sahni warned the investors not to come to J&K with the sole intention of making money and then fleeing away depriving the youth of Jammu and Kashmir of any benefit. He appealed to the companies have signed MoUs with the J&K Govt or private ventures in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that the youth of this Union Territory are accorded priority in their projects and ventures. The Shiv Sena president said that the party wholeheartedly welcomes the signing of MoUs and agreements by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Union Government with domestic and foreign companies willing to invest in Jammu and Kashmir. However, our only demand is that the establishments under the aforesaid agreements should absorb unemployed youth in their ventures. Sahni seek the J&K Govt. to open technical training centers related to units comming to J&K , so that the demand of skilled workers also be fulfilled only by the local youths. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also been claiming that there will be showering of jobs after foreign investment. While the foreign investment is increasing continuously and at the same time, the army of unemployed youth is also increasing. Sahni appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and the Central Government to keep the condition of employment for local youth with the MoUs Signed with the investors. On this occasion President Women's Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Balwant Singh, President Kamgar Wing Raj Singh, Vice President kamgar Pawan Singh, Sumit Abrol, President RS Pura Balveer Singh, joint secretary Surendra Sharma, Youth Vice President Rajesh Handa, Rajkumari, Balwant Raj, Ashok Kumar. Many leaders and workers including Tarsem Lal were present.
