24th National Conference on e-Governance; J&K makes a special mark | | | Agencies
Hyderabad, Jan 8: Jammu and Kashmir made its special mark and presence felt during the ongoing two-day 24th National Conference on e-Governance wherein Amit Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of J&K e-Governance Agency represented the UT and made valuable contributions as Chair of an important session on Day 1 whereas he happened to attend another session as a Co-Panelist on Day 2 before culmination of this all-important Summit organized by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in collaboration with National e-Governance Division with the theme “India’s Techade: Digital Governance in a Post Pandemic World” this year. Amit Sharma chaired and moderated an important Break Out Session of the Conference wherein Digital Excellence at District Level was the theme and speakers shared their respective innovative contributions with the usage of technology at the district level which included Varnali Deka, DC Kokrajhar, Government of Assam, Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Information and Science Technology & Director ITDA Uttarakhand, and Mohit Mishra, Deputy Collector HQ & SDM, Daman & Diu. The chair Amit Sharma while concluding also shared his vast experiences relating to the usage of technology for the masses when he also launched the maiden website of Dudu Basantgarh, the remotest Sub-Division of J&K about a decade ago which brought this lesser-known area on the global map and gave a vent to the public of the sub-district which was widely applauded by the august gathering. Another important Plenary Session on Government Process Re-engineering and citizens’ participation in Government processes was attended by CEO JaKeGA Amit Sharma who made a presentation on J&K’s contributions towards the public and best practices adopted in UT which are unique and fit into the context. Amit particularly talked about Empowerment through BEAMS and Jan Bhagidari portal conceptualized but J&K Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta wherein public feedback is being on sought on ongoing works even up to the block and village level in entire UT, complete switch-over to e-Office platform and making all departments paperless in Civil Secretariat, thereby making both Secretariats functional throughout the year for public convenience also resulting into drastic reduction of burden on state exchequer regarding the transition of office records during Darbar Move bi-annually and finally, Awam-ki-Awaaz initiative for public involvement which is a monthly program on current topics at Lieutenant Governor level which again got huge accolades in the Conference. Other co-panelists in the discussion were J.Rama Krishna Rao, CEO NISG, G Narendra Nath, JS National Security Council Secretariat, Brijesh Singh Addl DGP Maharashtra Police, and Karthikeyan Neelakantan, Vice President, Infosys who also shared their perspectives during the session. The 24th National e-Governance Conference ended with the ‘Hyderabad Declaration’ this year wherein a lot of sessions with participants from all around the nation shared their perspectives and Singapore was also a partner nation. Before leaving, CEO JaKeGA Amit Sharma made a request to Secretary DARPG V.Srivanas to consider J&K for holding future National Conference on e-Governance which shall give a boost to the Union Territory to push e-Governance reforms in a big way here which is the need of the hour. |
