Kisan Sabha celebrates 42nd foundation day

JAMMU, Jan 12: Kisan Sahba celebrated its 42nd foundation day in Jammu at Domana Purkhoo. Farmers from all parts of J&K participated. The function was presided over by a presidium comprising its president Advocate Hari Chand Jalmeria, Vice Presidents Dr. Ghanisham Singh Charak, Udey Chand, Balwant Singh, Gen Secretary Th Dewan Chand, Secretaries Rashpal Singh & Ravi Kumar and Dr. Mulakh Raj Bhamagi, Sarpanch Reena Choudhary, Sarpanch Maqbool Malik. Hari Chand Jalmeria, while speaking on the occasion, gave a resume of the 42 years long existence and struggles of the Kisan Sabha
On this occasion prominent speakers and participants included Uday Chand (Sunderbani), Ghanisham Singh Charak (Bishnah Balwant Singh & Shivdev Singh Susheel (Billawar), Th. Dewan Chand (Ramnagar) Shanker Singh Chib (Domana), Ravi Singh Bhau (Pallanwala), Ramankant Singh Manhas (Paloura), Rashpal Singh (Kalakote), Maqbool Malik (Baramulla), Ravi Kumar (Nowshera), Mulak Raj Bhamagi (Udhampur), Reena Choudhary (Ramgarh Samba), Mulakh Raj Sharma (Akhnoor) and others.
The Kisan Sabha adopted resolutions which included adequate compensation to farmers for heavy losses caused to kharif crops by unprecedented hail storm on October 23, 2021 in almost entire UT of J&K, facility of procurement of farmers' produce, procurement of farmers' produce on Minimum Support Price (MSP), opening of Research Centers in various areas of all climatic zones, provision of Kisan Pension Yojna for all farmers after age of 60 years besides various other demands were also raised.
