JAMMU, Jan 12: A huge population of Gujjar community today carried out a protest demonstration in support of their demands and launched a scathing against the demolition drive of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) alleging that same is being done to victimize the community.
The protesters said that the community members have been living in the areas for decades together and in case they had encroached upon state land then why no action was taken earlier. They demanded that LG Manoj Sinha should intervene in the matter and order for the removal of Vice Chairman JDA.
The protesters launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) UT President Ravinder Raina over his statement that flats would be constructed for the members of Gujjar community. They said that people belonging to the other communities may also be targeted in the future since the dispensation according to them believes in ‘witch hunt’. |
