| GDC RS Pura organizes lecture on "Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 12: NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura in collaboration with CASH Committee under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organized an informative online lecture on the topic "Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" to commemorate National Youth Day under the guidance of worthy Principal, Prof. Sunil Uppal and supervision of Dr. Balwinder Kour, Convener CASH Committee and Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Program Officer. The resource person of the session was Dr. Piyali Arora, Assistant Professor, Govt College for Women Parade Ground Jammu. . The proceedings of the program were initiated by Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur while the welcome address was delivered by Prof. Bindu Kumari. Dr. Piyali Arora delivered a very informative and elaborate lecture on the various aspects of drug abuse and the different types of drugs. She had a detailed talk with the students about the multifaceted problems related to drug addiction in the youth and their families. This was followed by a group discussion. The Principal of the college also addressed the students and encouraged them to lead a healthy and drug free life. He also appreciated the efforts of NSS unit and CASH committee and encouraged the volunteers to actively take part in such events. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Balwinder Kour. |
