Early Times Report SAMBA, Jan 12: GDC Ramgarh organized an online extension lecture on the topic 'Child Malnutrition' to celebrate 'Swasth Balak-Balika Spardha' and National Youth Day under the banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' under the aegis of Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The whole event was organized by Prof. Seema Sharma, Convener Women Development Cell and Prof. Risha Kumari under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College. Dr. Ekta Rani, Department of Hindi welcomed the Resource person, Faculty members as well as students. The formal welcome and the inaugural address were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college. Dr. Meeru Abrol said that under nutrition reduces immunological capacity to defend against diseases and recurrent infections, in turn reduce and deprive the body from essential nutrients. This leads to the dismal growth of children which adversely affect child's mental and physical development and learning capacity in future life. Dr. Neha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of EVS, Government Degree College, Majalta was the Resource Person on the occasion. She explained that child malnutrition is a chronic problem for the public administration of India. Malnutrition is a state of nutrition in which a deficiency or excess of energy protein and other nutrients causes measureable adverse effect on tissue and body form, its function and clinical outcome. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Bhupinder Kour, Department of EVS. Besides students, the teaching and non teaching staff members attended the webinar enthusiastically. |
