Kejriwal has never harassed any media house: AAP leader | ‘Our party believes in freedom of press, not blocking advertisements’ | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 15: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesman Jagdeep Singh today said that his party believes in freedom of press and that the government should allow the media to work in a free manner so that the Indian society comes up as an ideal society in the world. Talking to Early Times, Jagdeep Singh said that irrespective of the fact that whether the party comes to power in Jammu & Kashmir or not the party has always believed in the freedom of press. “Our leader Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi Chief Minister) has never harassed any media house as he believes in democracy,” he said. He said free and impartial media is the corner stone of any democracy adding that “The AAP believes in same. The AAP government would have never suppressed media by blocking the advertisements nor do we believe in media turning into a parrot which would keep on praising the government.” He said the government should look into the matter of survival of the media industry and ensure that media organizations or media men are not pushed to the wall. The AAP leader said that recommendations of Majithia commission should be implemented in letter and spirit as it would ensure that there is freedom of press in the country. |
