Cruel joke with border youth: Leaving earlier process midway, authorities issue fresh recruitment
1/15/2022 11:43:23 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 15: After snatching the livelihood of a large number of local youth through its deceitful policies, the incumbent Jammu and Kashmir government has betrayed thousands of youth of border areas who have applied for the post of constables in Border Battalions.
The recruitment process for two border battalions was started in the year 2019 when Jammu and Kashmir was a fulfilled State and a large number of boys and girls of border areas had applied for the same.
The recruitment process was suspended in March 2020 after the outbreak of the first wave COVID-19 pandemic. It was informed that 2000 youth will be recruited for Border Battalions.
Physical tests were restarted in December 2020 in Jammu province and the same process was started in Kashmir Valley in July 2021.
Ironically, making a mockery of the whole recruitment process, Jammu and Kashmir administration issued a fresh recruitment notification on January 11, 2022.
“In continuation to earlier advertisement notice issued under endorsement No. Pers-Rectt-A-105-2018/16207-50 dated 09-03-2019 for the post of Constable in two Border Battalions (one Battalion each in Jammu/Kashmir Region) and in pursuance to Government of Jammu and Kashmir Home l3epartment letter No. Home-PNG/201/2021-01-(CC-45001) dated 17-12-2021, wherein the competent authority has approved for issuance of fresh advertisement notification excluding UT of Ladakh so as to give the opportunity to eligible candidates who are domicile of Jammu and Kash mir to apply and participate in the selection process and be considered as per existing rules”, the new recruitment notice reads as.
The candidates who have earlier qualified PET/PST for the same in response to earlier notice need not apply again as they are eligible for the written examination.
Similarly, the candidates who were disqualified in PET/PST under the earlier advertisement can not apply again as their applications would not be considered.
Amid freezing temperature candidates who have applied in response to the earlier recruitment notice held a demonstration at Jammu against issuing fresh notice for recruitment.
Candidates demanded that the process of earlier recruitment notice should be completed before issuing fresh notice. They termed this action as injustice and discriminatory.
