Job aspirants stage protest, seek withdrawal of new notification
1/15/2022 11:43:15 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 15: Youth who had applied for the posts in border battalion staged a protest here on Saturday against government’s decision to re-advertise the posts that were announced three years ago.
Protesters said, “If the government fails to withdraw the new notification we will go for self immolation.”
“The first notification for the recruitment was issued in March 2019 and 1350 posts were announced. Our physicals were conducted and a short list was prepared for written examinations.”
They said, “For the past three years we have been running from pillar to post to get the written examinations conducted but no one has listened to us.”
“On January 11, the government issued another notification for border battalions. It states that new candidates can apply but the vacancies have not been increased. In the new notification even the reservation for the other classes has been increased,” they said.
“When we approached the officials to seek clarifications they informed us that we don’t have to appear for physical tests and we will be called for a written test,” the aspirants said.
They said, “Its sheer injustice with us. In the first place we were made to wait for three years. Now, they have increased the competition level by issuing one more notification without increasing the posts. If the government wants to conduct the new recruitment drive it should hold it separately rather than mixing it with our selections. We appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and do justice with us.”
