SRINAGAR, Jan 29: The rescuers on Saturday morning retrieved the body of the youth who had drowned along with his brother in the river Jhelum in north Kashmir. In a tragic incident on Friday, two brothers Hilal Ahmad Malla and Naseer Ahmad Malla of Laharwalpora Bandipire drowned while extracting sand from the Jhelum waters at Baramulla. Soon after the incident a joint rescue operation was launched by the police, State Disaster Response Force and locals. While Hilal's body was fished out on Friday evening, Nissar's body was found this morning.
"The joint rescue operation has been called off after the body of the second sibling was retrieved," an official said. |
