| Irony! DCs don’t pick up calls of DDC members | | |

JAMMU, Jan 29: The District Development Council (DDC) members of the different districts of Jammu division have alleged that the people at helm do not take them seriously and as such the grievances of the common masses are not solved thus leading to embarrassment for them.
Early Times has learnt from sources that in most of the districts’ the Deputy Commissioners never attend to call from DDC members and at the same time do not bother to call them back. Sources said that the DDC members are chosen by the people and the people see towards them for solution of their problems.
“A DDC member is an important component of three tier system of local self government but it is an irony that they are not being given due recognition by the people at helm.
In this scenario the problems of the people remain unaddressed and the problems pile up one after another,” said sources. |
