JAMMU, Feb 1: Apni Party today staged a protest demonstration against the proposal to establish Toll Plaza on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Thandi Khui.
Led by District Vice President Jammu Urban, Vaibhav Mattoo and Provincial President Youth Wing Jammu, Vipul Bali, the youth wing leaders gathered here in front of NHAI office at Channi Himmat.
Shouting slogans against NHAI for not considering demands of the local population, the Apni Party leaders demonstrated against the adamant attitude of NHAI officials.
Speaking in front of the protesters, Vaibhav Mattoo criticized the NHAI for not considering the demands of the locals who would be displaced with the proposed Toll Plaza.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Jammu, Vipul Bali said that “Every year new toll plazas are being installed in J&K despite knowing about the economic condition of the people.”
He said that “If Nation Highway Authority of India will not listen to the demands, the Apni Party will continue to hold protests against their attitude and block the highway to express anguish.”
He also said that the norms of widening highways/roads have not been followed. |
