Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 1: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today staged a strong protest in favor of increasing the minimum wage of temporary employees of the state and the demands of the Safai Karamcharis of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Under the leadership of party state president Manish Sahni, Shiv Sainiks raised slogans in support of the above demands with placards in their hands at the state office. Sahni said that it is unfortunate that Jammu and Kashmir is neither getting facilities as per union territory nor full state status. Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to increase the minimum wage of temporary employees of Jammu and Kashmir from 225 to 600, including increasing the number of temporary employees in the Jammu Municipal Corporation, ending the NGO system and permanent the employee, those served the department for more than 7 years. Sahni said that the number of wards in Jammu Municipal Corporation has increased from 23 to 75. The expansion and population of the area under the Jammu Municipal Corporation has also increased. But increasing the number of sanitation workers is being neglected. For the last several years, the file of appointment of 600 Safai Karamcharis is licking the dust. Despite becoming a union territory, the temporary employees are not getting proper honorarium according to the center. In this era of inflation, due to the implementation of the NGO system, the salaries of the employees are also not being received on time. Sahni said that the Government, which has made a big claim to success of 'Swatch Bharat Abihiyan" is ignoring the demands of the sanitation employees engaged in making this campaign a success. Sahni warned that if the above demands are not met soon, Shiv Sena will be forced to take to the streets along with these employees. On this occasion, Women's Wing President Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi and GI Singh, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Sandeep Bhagat, President Kamgaar Wing Raj Singh, Pawan Singh, Manju Ram, Sumit Abrol, Secretary Women's Wing Geeta Lakhotra, Meena Devi, Secretary Surendra Kumar, Rajesh Handa, Dimple and many others were present. |
