Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Srinagar airport commenced cargo operations from the new domestic cargo complex from Tuesday. The complex has been built at a cost of over Rs 14 crore, officials said. Director Srinagar airport, Kuldeep Singh said this is the "step forward" in the "quest to serve our valuable customers and stakeholders to the best of our ability." He said the new complex has provisions for "cold storage, sensitive goods, and dangerous goods also." "This was not available in the old Cargo complex," Singh said. "We have installed two X-ray machines for screening of the cargo. The entire complex is covered with CCTV camerasto ensure safety and security of the cargo," he said, adding, "this complex will be entirely managed by our own staff on a regulated agent basis."
