| Pondy LG inaugurates indoor stadium | | | agencies
PUDUCHERRY, Feb 24: Lt Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday inaugurated the "Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose" indoor stadium at the Pondicherry University (PU).
PU Assistant Registrar K Mahesh in a release on Thursday said, the Lt Governor, speaking on the occasion stressed the fact that the faculty should motivate the students to take part in sports.
The faculty in the Physical Education Department and the Faculty from the other departments should go hand-in-hand to instill the spirit of sports among the students, she added.
Maintaining a sound body along with the sound mind has become very important especially during this pandemic time, Dr Soundararajan said and recalled the immortal poem of the exemplary Tamil poet Subramania Bharathi, who advised the young children " Malai Muzhuvadum Villaiyattu" ( spend the whole evening playing games) which still holds good for our modern generation.
