Stranded passengers rue lack of support from admin | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: Hundreds of persons stranded at bus stand here have urged the union territory administration to step in and facilitate their forward movement to Kashmir valley. The stranded people said that they are facing numerous problems and nobody from administration has helped them. Talking to Early Times a group of stranded people said that the administration is fully aware about the problems being faced by them adding that despite this nobody has come forward to help. They said the taxi operators and cab owners are demanding hefty sum as transportation charges adding that there is no check on the same. “The government should step in and operate government buses so that poor people like us do not face any problem in reaching to our respective destinations in the Kashmir valley. The taxi operators and cab owners are demanding huge sum as transport charge and we are unable to pay the same,” said the group of stranded people. A stranded passenger said that although the cab owners demand huge money they cheat the passengers by they dropping them mid-way and not take them to the designated designation. The stranded people said that the administration should regulate their movement in a cheap and affordable manner. |
