| Ganderbal headless district: Imran Ansari | | Self immolation incident | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24: General Secretary of Peoples Conference, Imran Raza Ansari, on Thursday expressed dismay over the self immolation bid made by a youth against demolition drive in Ganderbal district recently.
Talking to Early Times Ansari said, “To suspend an official who was there is an old tactic. The Committee should be constituted to probe why the youth took such a drastic step. Such incidents belie the claims of the government that there is transparency and good governance in J&K. The boy is in hospital with 40% burns, he is battling for life.” Asked whom he thinks is responsible for the incident, Ansari said, “Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal doesn’t remain in the office. Even if she is there in the office I don’t know much she is in touch with the ground level. A few months before I had tweeted that Ganderbal is a headless district as the DC didn’t attend the office for one and a half month. Most of the time she remains in Jammu.” |
