agencies NEW DELHI, Feb 24: Tokyo Paralympics bronze medallist high jumper Sharad Kumar expressed concerns for his coach Nikitan Uffgan and said that the Ukrainian "can hear bombing from his room". "Just spoke to my coach in Kharkiv, he is worried... he is planning to move to his garage underground," Sharad tweeted on Thursday. "His wife was crying over the phone and they were moving underground. I called up other friends in Kharkiv, they are all scared as well. I just feel terrible and helpless," ESPN quoted Sharad. Sharad, who lived in Ukraine for six years, added: "Even when I was in Ukraine, I'd hear of military conflict. Of course not at the scale it's happening now. But it was sort of always on the simmer." The high jumper has been in India after his bronze medal finish in the Paralympics, and was planning to return to Ukraine in June. "Things should be better by then I'm hoping," he said, "I want to go back." he said.
