170-180 students from J&K stuck in Ukraine, fast evacuation being done: Embassy official | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 24: As Russia has mounted a military offensive in Ukraine, at least 170-180 students from J&K are stuck in the country. Worried students and parents have sought immediate evacuation from Ukraine. "There is a lot of panic here and people have queued up for shopping," said a Kashmir student from Handwara who is studying MBBS from Sumy State University, Ukraine. " We want to return home immediately." The student said the Indian Embassy contacted them this morning and advised them to fill up a form. "We are in touch with the Embassy and they asked to stay in safe areas," the student said. Another student Umar Dar, who is studying medicine at Ternopil Ukraine said Thursday morning sirens were heard in the city causing some panic. "We had our regular classes till yesterday and the situation here is good right now but it can turn bad any time," he said, adding the closure of the airport has created more panic. .
