PDD apathy triggers outrage at Waghama-Bijbehara | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 27: Residents of Waghama village in the Bijbehara area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have lodged protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) and demanded that a higher capacity transformer should be installed in the village. Sharing their views with Early Times a group of residents said that the low tension (LT) wires that were replaced some days back have caved in and fallen on the ground. They said that the wires were of sub-standard quality and they could not sustain the current and fell on the ground. The residents said that the low tension wires need to be replaced at the earliest so that there is no accident in the village. They said the electricity transformer installed in the area is of low capacity and a higher capacity transformer needs to be put in place. They said that this would solve the problems of the people at one go. |
